Getting started
What is Foodr?
Foodr is a food review and social mapping app. You can review restaurants, share recipes, follow other foodies, discover spots on an interactive map, and message friends to plan where to eat.
How do I create an account?
Open Foodr and sign up with your email. You will pick a username and can add a display name, profile photo, bio, and your city. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Is Foodr free?
Yes. Foodr is free to download and use. Reviewing spots, following foodies, browsing the map, and messaging are all included.
Accounts and privacy
Can I make my profile private?
Yes. In Settings you can switch your account to private. When your account is private, people send a follow request that you approve or decline before they can see your reviews and activity.
How do I block or report someone?
Open a user's profile or a post and use the menu to block or report. Blocking hides their content from you and stops them from interacting with you. You can manage blocked users any time under Settings.
How do I report a post?
Tap the menu on any review or recipe and choose to report or hide it. Reports go to our team for review, and hiding removes the post from your feed right away.
Reviews, recipes, and the map
How do I post a review?
Tap the plus button in the center of the tab bar and choose Review. Pick the spot, add a rating, a price read, photos or video, your cuisine tag, and your notes. Your review then appears on the map and in your followers' feeds.
What are Local Picks?
Local Picks are your personal city guides, organized by category such as best overall, best for date night, or best hidden gem. You can build them for any city and share them as a clean, branded image.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Foodr uses your location to show nearby restaurants on the map and to power the Near Me feed. Location is optional, and you control the permission in your device settings.
Managing your data
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and associated data. If you would like help, email privacy@foodr.app and we will assist you.
Can I download my data?
Yes. You have the right to access and download your personal data. Email privacy@foodr.app and we will help you export it.
What is the minimum age to use Foodr?
You must be at least 13 years old. Foodr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Troubleshooting
The app is not loading or a photo will not upload.
Check your connection, then close and reopen the app. If it keeps happening, make sure you are on the latest version and that Foodr has camera and photo permission in your device settings. Still stuck? Email us with your device model and what you saw.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Please email support@foodr.app with a short description, your device and app version, and a screenshot if you have one. Details like these help us fix things faster.
